Licence

Every cantdealwithtype typeface is sold under one licence that covers all common uses: print, web, apps, and physical products.

You buy once, priced by the size of your organisation, and use the font wherever your work needs it.

Common questions

I’m a designer. Can I use the font in a logo for a client? Yes. You can design with it, final logos and brand identity included. But if the client will keep using the typeface themselves once the project ends (editing the logo, setting other materials, building internal templates), they need their own licence. Your licence covers your work, not theirs.

What counts as a “user”? Anyone inside your organisation who installs or works with the font files. Your tier sets the maximum. Clients, outside freelancers, and agencies you hire are not covered by your licence.

Can I use the fonts on a website? Yes, as a self-hosted webfont via @font-face. There’s no pageview cap and no separate web licence. Host the files on your own server, and don’t expose the raw font files for download.

Can I embed the font in a PDF or eBook? Yes, as long as it’s embedded for viewing only and can’t be extracted or used to create new content. Standard print and preview embedding in most software already works this way.

Can I modify the font? No. The files can’t be modified, adapted, reverse-engineered, or converted to other formats without written permission. If you need something custom, write to hello@cantdealwithtype.xyz.
