Information

Galhau Display 2.0 is a major update to the original Galhau Display, redesigned, expanded and carefully refined to perform better at large sizes while preserving its distinctive voice.

This new version revisits core letterforms, improving proportions, curve tension and overall rhythm. Several glyphs were carefully redrawn to achieve better optical balance and a cleaner silhouette, especially in all-caps settings where spacing and weight distribution are critical.

Kerning and sidebearings have been thoroughly recalibrated across the family. The updated spacing system produces a more even typographic color, tighter rhythm and improved readability without sacrificing the compact, assertive presence that defines the original typeface.

The family now includes five weights, Regular, Medium, Semibold, Bold and Extrabold, each accompanied by a properly drawn slanted style. They were designed to preserve structural integrity and maintain consistent stroke behavior across weights.

Positioned within the neo-grotesque tradition but intentionally avoiding neutrality, Galhau Display balances rational construction with subtle character. It is designed for headlines, visual identities, posters and contemporary editorial use where clarity and personality must coexist.
